Damn that is shiny! Now for me to add fuel to your fire. You need to tint your windows and get some aluminum running boards. :D

Hi Hansel, nice photos.I have fitted Eibachs on many cars and although they give you the best handling ,they dont always lower your car very much!I dont know if you have air suspension,in which case you just got the Eibachs for the front, but your car looks only very slightly lowered at the front and oem at the rear! When I lower cars ,I always take measurements before and after because this way you proof the springs manufacturer claims of the lowering of the car.I beleive Eibach claims a 30mm lowering for the X5,your car looks nowhere near it?You could have a faulty set of springs?Whats the confort like with the Eibachs and the 20"s?This is what concerns me most because I have the 20s with the sports package and I my car is a little hard.

Nice looking X, love the wheels.
The only thing left to do now is to TINT THOSE WINDOWS!!! The X does not look right without the tinted windows. |

Looks so nice! How is the ride quality compared to stock?
Also how much are the Eibach's? |
thanks for the comments guys.. and all the help i've recieved from many of you..
the eibach i got for $150 from a member on this board.. the install and rear drop cost me $220.. as for ride quality.. it has a lot less body roll and it seems to "nose" into turns more rather than the way it used to where it seemed i couldnt really accelerate through a turn w/o it rolling a lot.. not that i race it, but its a lot more "driveable" to me now.. as for the back.. the guy who lowered it said to keep the back a little higher than the front to keep the handling dynamics closer to stock behavior and he said it handles better this way.. believe it or not he dropped the back about 1.5".. depending on where im parked you can tell better.. it doesnt look as low due to the rims and the low profile tires.. if this were on my stock 19's it would look a lot lower.. |
thanks for the info! how does it feel when your going over bumpy roads, potholes...is the shock support still soft?
|
Guys, I think you can buy the same kit new on tirerack for $155. Here is the a link. There is also a $255 H&R spring kit.
http://www.tirerack.com/suspension/S...odel&brand=all My only concern is that putting firmer springs on stock OEM shocks might have a tendency to wear them down quicker. You really need to get a firmer shock like the sport shock. BTW, is your X5 a sport version or a non-sport version? |
on pot holes etc.. it feels much like stock nothing dramatic or harsh in the way the suspension reacts.. if you're iffy about this mod, i'd definitely do it.. the ride is almost the same as far as smoothness and it handles a lot better and looks a lot better..
i have the sport package, so i cant really even tell a difference since the suspension is stiff to begin w/.. |
