the eibach i got for $150 from a member on this board.. the install and rear drop cost me $220..

as for ride quality.. it has a lot less body roll and it seems to "nose" into turns more rather than the way it used to where it seemed i couldnt really accelerate through a turn w/o it rolling a lot.. not that i race it, but its a lot more "driveable" to me now.. as for the back.. the guy who lowered it said to keep the back a little higher than the front to keep the handling dynamics closer to stock behavior and he said it handles better this way.. believe it or not he dropped the back about 1.5".. depending on where im parked you can tell better.. it doesnt look as low due to the rims and the low profile tires.. if this were on my stock 19's it would look a lot lower..

Hi Hansel, really good to learn that you dont find the car any more uncomfortable with the Eibachs and the lowering.Regarding the lowering, please confirm what profile tyres are you running on the 20"s?Are you using 295/40 ou staggered (275+315/35)?If you are running the staggered, then you will have a diffference of -10mm(.394") in the rolling diametre and height as to the oem 19"s(255/50+285/45).Should you be using the 295/40 all round, you will be +6mm(.236") in roll diam. and height.
I have just took measurements in my X5 with the 20"s (staggered).I measured from the level ground to the bottom of the fender flare.Front shows:79.5mm(31.30"),rear:81.5mm(32.10").Really appreciate if you could take same measurements of your x5 so that we can all be informed.THANKS

Powers1: i just took a quick measurement of my car's height from ground to bottom of the fender flare.. my front is almost right at 30" and my rear is a tad over 31"

my tires are staggard.. 275's in the front and 315's in the rear..

can anyone w/ a stock 4.4i sport w/ the staggard 19's take a quick measurement as well? i should have done a before and after but i was in a rush..

Vendetta: i dont tow that boat w/ the X5, but i have towed a Sea Doo Challenger 20 footer (about 3200 lbs) w/ no problem at all.. i have the 4.4 and the gearing is such that i cant even feel the boat behind me.. on the launch ramp you have to check the rearview to make sure you even have a boat behind you.. gas mileage is worse as expected but the X5 def. suprised me when it had a load behind it..i'd imagine your 4.6 would be even better.

I think OEM chrome window trim and painting the lower black pieces (bumpers, etc) Ti would make your X even better.

Also I agree, you can't shine your shoes (chrome wheels) and not put sunglasses on... in other words - tint those windows.

Hansel, because your 19"s had a rolling diam.of +10 mm compared to your 20"s,this means that with the 20"s and with standard springs set up, the 20"s will be 10mm(.394")lower to the ground but the gap between the top of the tyre and the bottom of the fender flare will therefore increase by the same 10 mm.So,if we add the 10mm to the measurements I took of my stock X5,you should have +/- the measurements of a stock 4.4 with the staggered 19"s.Front:31.70...Rear:32.5.With these figures we can conclude that you car at the front with the Eibach springs lowered 1.7"( Eibach claim 1.1"!) and the rear 1.5"(exactly what your guy said he lowered). The fact that your car doesnt seem lowered, goes to proof that photos can be deceiving! You really must compare it side by side with a stock X5.Also the tyre/fender gap is bigger.....
