since your warranty is over, i would definitely get the Axxis pads, you'll just need to get rotors and sensors too. It'll be way less than $1200!

Do the brake job yourself. It is quite easy...and you will learn a lot about your X5 while doing it. The dealer is bending you over sideways on the brake jobs. Do it yourself...spend the money on tools and take 2 hours to change your rotors and pads.

Since you're out of warranty, "Trust the MIDAS touch." :D

i got my 02 X5 on 11-04 and now it has 30925 Miles on it and it looks like the breaks will need some work soon, will the CPO warranty cover the breaks? |
really quickly.. My steering wheel shakes a little when i step on brake.. its that means i need Alighment or balance? I think its Balance no? cuz if i take my hands off the steering wheel, it goes nicely straight. I know that i need new bushings. Everytime I go over a speed bump, i feel the metal really hard no cushing like on the back wheels.
Any suggestions guys? thanks for your feedback. |
Imo, it's one, or a combo of the following, rated in my order:
-warped front rotors (and pads worn unevenly) -worn control arms -wheel balance -"bushings"? Alingment would be about 23rd on my list of concerns, vis a vis your description. My 2Cts. GL,md |

From memory, No. "CPO" is Not maint. items and it is similar to a safety net with big holes. GL,md |
