Gas here is about 8.0 per gallon, easy on the rightfoot!

All you guys complaining about your cheap gas. I haven't seen premium below $4/gal since last year. It was almost $5/gal for awhile but now it's coming back down thank goodness.

If here in Portugal we have gas at 4/5$gallon :wow: :wow: :wow: we were the most happy people on the planet.
Here the price is around 8/9$gallon and Portugal is one of the poor country in Europe and one where you pay more taxes. For exemple New X5 3.0D 85.000 Euros price without options New X5 4.8 110.000 Euros price without options 02 X5 3.0D around 35.000 Euros 05 X5 3.0d around 50.000 Euros So you in America are in heaven    Regards, |

I get about 14-15mpg in the city with my 3.0i
From what I know (hear say), the 3.0 is "supposed" to get worse mileage than the 4.x liter engine. This is because BMW tried to get a relatively similar performance out of the 3.0 engine as the 4.x engine and to do that the 3.0 has to work harder. Now, this is under heavy acceleration and stop-and-go type of traffic... So, 11mpg is definitely scary and something is not right, and under nice, gentle driving and highway conditions the 3.0 should be the "better on gas" car. But who drives it "nice" ?? :dunno: :D |
I have a 4.4i 2005 and it normally in city driving gives about 15-16 mpg. But today it was giving only 10!!!! I think that might have been because of me pulling some 0-140's...lol

When cruising at 65mph what sort of fuel usage would you get?
I have just bought an 05 4.4 and at 115kph (65mph) i have been getting 12.5 L/100km (18.8mpg) this is with cruise control set on relatively flat ground. I thought it would have been better than this? Around the city I have been getting 15 L/100km (15.7mpg). Quote:

The 15L/100km in city seems about right. I'm not sure about the cruising at 115 kph. Never checked that. I thought it would be a little better too, but after all it is a pretty heavy v8 x5 with alot of power.

I got my X 4.4 converted to lpg about a month ago and i would highly recommend it. I get about 19mpg on the motorway and 17mpg driving around town. I have religously kept a log of my mileage, average speed and cost so as to calculate my mpg and cost so far. Remember with lpg you don't get increased mpg, you just save on cost. There is no noticeable change in performance, just extra change in my pocket.

same here. as long as I don't have to deal with engine and transmission problems it can get 10mpg, though my average is 15
