Michelle had the epic fail. :saad:

A few weeks ago, when the odometer hit 0987333, I reset the tripometer. When I parked the car a week later, I was 10 miles away from the picture. I Mapquested a shopping center along my commute and it said it was 9.5 miles away. Perfect, right?!

It turns out that Mapquest was wrong, and the shopping center is 11 miles away. So, as I'm driving and realize that I'm going to hit 098765 432.1 during my drive, I quickly get out my camera and try to snap the picture while driving on the windy one-lane road.

Normally, it wouldn't have turned out too bad. Except for the fact that it was pitch dark outside and I keep my dash at the lowest dimmer setting! UGH! Why didn't I remember to brighten the dash? I can barely see the odometer reading in the picture.

I had some photoshoppers try to fix it:

So much for sending the picture into Roundel. :saad:

I'll be hitting 100,000 by the weekend. Hopefully I won't fail again.

Michelle,

My '05 X5 (just bought it) has 50,100. So I've a ways to go. BUT....

My '00 Yukon that I bought new in 2000 has 161,000 miles. Here's what I've done to it since new:

Water pump at 125,000 miles - $400
Fuel pump at 140,000 miles - $500
GM Goodwrench trans at 145,000 miles (ouch) - $2200 (emp discount)
Tires at 60,000 and 120,000 miles
Still has original brakes at 161,000 miles (unbelieveable)
BG Fuel injection service every 18 months, $100 per service

That's it. 161,000 miles. Rattle, squeak free. Doesn't burn oil, doesn't drip oil. Looks and runs damn near as good as the day I drove it off the lot.

I'm hoping I'm as lucky with my X5 (but I'm not counting on it)....sigh.

My 15 year old daughter will be driving my Yukon, so at least it'll still be in the family :)

Nothing but bliss after 121,800 miles for me. I just put new tires and wheels on and prepared my baby for another couple years of luv.

Cool. Any major service since you bought it; or just normal oil changes and stuff like that?
