16:9 question
Looking to get video capabilities into my X5 and maintain the radio and factory look. No real need for the nav part at this time.
I did a search and there's a lot of stuff to read on the OEM 16:9. Read a lot of it but didn't really find what I needed about swapping from the business CD player garabage to this for just video and radio uses (no NAV): http://i186.photobucket.com/albums/x...tor_X5/big.jpg Is there a way to make use of this screen to keep the radio working but to get inputs to do an aftermarket video setup off a DVD player or is it best to just use the OEM player?? Audio outputs on this piece............ can it be converted into RCA's somewhere to be able to hook into external processing and then an aftermarket amp ?? What's been the experience with this and being able to setup surround sound? Anyways, any insight to all of this would be greatly appreciated................... |
very interesting..... so you can actually pick up this part, plug and play and get radio and video?

Either way, this is about a $4K job for parts alone. |
What if I could get my hands on one of these and just wanted to use it as a radio instead of the business cd garbage - simple?

will not work. You will need the radio tuner, which will cost you around $500, more or less and wiring harness. The screen is just monitor. The sound comes from the tuner, and the nav display comes from computer. Think of it this way, you buy a monitor without a computer, you will not get anything.

once again, it is just a monitor. IT WILL NOT WORK UNLESS YOU BUY THE OTHER COMPONENTS.
