Just picked mine up a couple of days ago
2005 3.0D done about 150miles. Comp reads 20.2 MPG! |
Sry for the late response.
I dry mostly city, but on open road haul ass I get @ 12.1L/100 so that is 19MPG (235 rule) Best I got was following the wife home on open road at 9.2L/100 so that is 25MPG but only once |
My X5 3.0d
Hi,
my X5 3.0d 2005 consumed 10,5l/100km. 50% city between 30-60km/h 40% autobahn at 160km/h 10% at 100km/h Howy |
I'm still on my first tank of fuel!!!!!!
Computer is showing 27, everything on mine is in Kilometers, but computer can be set to show good old MPG's. (Imp gallon) Rural driving narrow roads, will get you a more accurate figure when I've gone through a few tankfulls. |
City driving about 29mpg (uk) just got it serviced and it's flying up the road :D 39k miles
|
The best I got was last weekend when we picked up the little Autobianchi Abarth in Germany. We drove home at 100km/h for 400 km. Back home the consumption was 7.6l/100km :) But I'm not planning on keeping such a driving style....

Real MPG data!
Here is some real MPG data for my '02 3.0d auto.
This MPG figure is based on fuel used over distance covered  Over the 3323 miles that ive owned the car it has returned an average 28.05 MPG. This has been a mixture of motorway and town driving. The computer has been recording around the same figure, so its very close  The best figure i've seen on the computer is 33 MPG on a motorway run (150 miles) without the aircon on. The worst I've seen is 20 MPG on a short run around town - but thats to be expected. So, overall, I'm happy with that :D |
Having Air con reduced MPG? what other factors reduce MPG?
Having the windows open? carrying heavy passenger? ha :) surely these should only be insignificant variations in MPG? any thoughts? |

Mine (2003 184HP) make 8,1liters/100km. at 130Km/h fix. I'd like to know about the model '04 at the same speed fixed, what the computer indicate. In the normal use it indicate 10.2 but around town 11,4. I suggest the ECU mapping. The consumption are slightly lower (medium 0,8l/100km) and the car is fantastic! |
