And lastly, are any of these easy enough to install for a DIY?

The strut brace does pretty much what Dinan claims: keeps the front end of the vehicle more settled and planted when changing direction rapidly. On the X5, it's not as dramatic an improvement as it was on my old 328Ci, but it does help appreciably, and for this reason it's well worth it IMO. As far as installation, if you're handy you can def. do it yourself... but for $45, I had my Dinan guy do it :o
Camber plates add more angle, or 'negative camber' to the front wheels. (Picture looking at the front of the vehicle... addiing a LOT of negative camber would make it go from |--| to /--\ Dinan camber plates actually only add -.5 degrees of additional camber above what can be adjusted from stock, but a little goes a long way!) Camber plates are very difficult to install, so expect to pay about $350 for labor on top of the $250 for the parts, but they are ABSOLUTELY worth it. They make the front tires grip better, effectively removing pretty much all of the excessive understeer BMW built into the X5. I would recommend them to anyone who's interested in driving enthusiastically.
