Who wants a CF Hood?

I know nothing about this ad makes any sense http://ottawa.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehic...QAdIdZ63160158

but it got me wondering if it were possible. Do you think if we got enough people together maybe one of our forum sponsors could cook one up? I'd likely paint it body color so it's not so much for looks just looking to shed weight everywhere possible. yeah, you can call me crazy, it's late.

anyone else interested?

group buy forum doesn't seem to be getting much action.

:iagree: noticed that as well, but did not mention since it was irrelevant to the hood :D

illstreet can make custom carbon fiber hoods if you order about 10 of them and supply a hood for the mold. The person supplying the hood for the mold gets a free carbon fiber hood. The down side is the it takes about 4-8 weeks. The cost is generally around $600 each shipped.

Jlevi sells CF hoods for 3-series made by Vorsteiner. You can have it with or without the vents. Wonder they will make for X5. :dunno:

I'm still interested if you guys want to do it. I've become obsessed with deleting weight. I should have added a poll option, one problem in getting this request together is pre and post facelift hood differences.

You should have left the grill titanium.....looks too much black with black grill....need contrast. But very good job on chop.
