X5 on lockdown!!! HELP!!
Well i bought another bmw for everyday use cuz i just hit 100k in the X5. so i put my X in the garage and a week later i try to use it and the battery is dead!
So now my question is how do i open it! i replaced the keyhole with the hide away part and now i have no way to open it! the windows wont roll down and i cant use a slim jim!!! aaahhhhhhh! PLease anyone help any way possible! |
There is the way that you can get in the X5 like a Pro but i can't tell you how to i'll get trouble for it.
But why not pop out that hide way keyhole cover and stick the key in to open it. |
theres the problem...i glued it on and i used the slim jim which might have broken the handle assembly....the handle wont go down like it used to. i was gonna try and open the hood somehow to charge the battery then i can use the the remote. but i cant even get it to open....You can pin me the info and i swear i wont tell any1....please?!?!?!?

Can't help you with the lockout, but thanks for the heads up. I just bought a Z4 for much the same reason; I need to cut down on the mileage on the X5. I'll have to make sure to drive it at least once a week.

Is the hide away just a piece of plastic that is covering the keyhole or did it replace the key hole all together? Anyways i would break that damn hideaway cover off and use your key to open the door. Its a no brainer but if the keyhole is comeplety missing then call a lock out person and they will try to pry your open a use a diagphram to open the door wide enough to put a rod through it and open the door that way. Good Luck!

DO NOT pry break or otherwise damage your car, sometimes advice isn't always good.

The solution should NOT be posted on a board for obvious reason. I like my X to stay locked when I leave it on the street!

Keep in mind if the truck was "double locked" (alarm set) with a dead battery you can't open the doors at all until you get power to it... So even if you get a rod in there to hit the inside handle, it may not open. See if pop-a-lock has any tricks up their sleeve, if not worst case could be costing yourself a window... to be able to pop the hood.
Now this is why I wouldn't cover the key hole myself... you kinda need to have at least one physical key hole... |
