I should have purchased a Pilot

The work that I have done on my 4.4i 2001 has overwealmed me. I should have purchased a newer year, or a different car all together. I wanted to post this here to help someone make the right choice. These X5's should be called JEEP (Just Empty Every Pocket)

2001, what did you expect from an 8 y/o car? Quit your crying.

That's funny. My next door neighbor went for a ride with me in my 2001 4.4. A week later he got rid of his pilot.

Too bad you don't love your X5 like the majority of us do.

Blanket generalization, imo. Our '01 still runs pretty damn good, with
less than a $1000 out of pocket on repairs/parts, in 7 1/2 years.

I doubt that an equivalent 2001 Pilot that wasn't maintained by the previous owner would have faired much better. However, I agree with you. A newer or different vehicle would have matched your expectations better.

:iagree: 2001 is the best!

When you're buying used; Mileage and Year are far less important then who owned it before you, and how it was maintained.

My '01 runs, and looks brand new. It was dealer maintained with a "spare no expense" checkbook by the original owner.

People that are not knowledgeable of BMW's think it is near new.
