Never tried Seafoam, but I did use this recently in my e36 325i.

It has over 280k miles on it so, I wasn't as worried trying it out on that car. Not sure if I would use anything in the X at this point though.

You can also clean your throttle body with TB cleaner. This will help with start-up and idle.

Nothing wrong with using it, I've used it on many cars before.

its surprising how people who don't know anything about it claim it to be 'harmful'

Really? According to who?

I see plenty of people on the net who have done it with a modern BMW with no ill effects, and judging from the massive smoke cloud that came from the X5, I'd say it was long overdue.

Not sure what the giant smoke cloud is to mean. Usually it's a bad thing. How about this...go get a brand new BMW with 2 miles on the odometer and run the jungle juice through it. Video tape it and post it on the net. By your 'hypothesis' the exhaust should be clean enough to nearly breath.

:iagree:

I've used it in fuel tank, crankcase and through carburetors/the vac system with positive results.

My autos/boat/riding mower/snow thrower thrive on the jungle juice!!!

I agree!!! This is nothing new.....I just had a soup to nuts done and this was part of my service at my INDY shop......thi sis not a big deal......and she was very appreciative of it and running top notch.................The big smoke cloud is all the shit and grime that is built up...finally getting released.....after hammering on the throttle at the shop and then my 4 mile drive home...it cleared right up....
