The display of information with the OEM isn't great, the sound quality was good. To install the OEM you have to get access to a connector, remove a couple of pins and replace with pins from the wire harness on the kit. You don't have to solder, you have to follow the instructions carefully. I have not tried the Intravee II, I would probably look at that unit if your looking for a unit to display the text from the iPod.

News flash.. in stalling my Dice today at 11am and just finished at 1845 (Bah) time.. more to follow.. not even nice!!!

I bought the I-simple ipod hook up- Install took me all of about 10-15 mins including running the wires. It charges the Ipod and you can control ipod from the radio and wheel. - I have the ipod Nano and actually ran the cord under and into the ash tray- it fits in there perfect and i can close the door which is nice for people peeking in the window- out of sight out of mind.. I also lined the inside of the ash tray to give it a finished look. If interested I can post pics and so forth

Intravee II is the best solution .. installation in 10 minutes maximum and u can control EVERYTHING on the screen .. I had my iPod in the rear compartment over the NAV computer and never need to use it unless I want to take it out.
I also have the DICE on the E46 and it is working fine... Installation also in 10 minutes and I put the iPod on the small drawer under the lights knob... |
another vote for Intravee
