Bingo. Comfort seats with lumbar support. Hopefully heated!
If you want you can also add ventilation to these seats as a retrofit. |
Back in the olden days, you could only get the comfort seat, which wasn't very sporty, or the sport seats, which didn't have the upper backrest adjustment and electric headrest adjustment.
The comfort seats, as mentioned, have that add'l small adjustment knob above the normal backrest angle knob. These have 4-way lumbar inclusive, making for a total of 16-way adjustments. As a side interesting note: These same older seats were still used on the 2007 X3. At least until the supplier went bankrupt. Then for 2008 they swapped to the fancier seats with the active headrests. |

Without commenting on whether or not I or members of my family are wider down below, I like the fact that my comfort seats have adjustable side bolsters on the seat bottom, and an extendable thigh support. Better than the sport seats because of the articulation and adjustable height headrest with wings. Comfort seats do vary by model and year; mine are in a 535. |
Well I just assumed it was intentional given that you exhaustively search the threads for my comments and then methodically destroy all of my arguments.
J/K of course! I knew that comfort seats varied but didn't know the ones on the X5 had any adjustments to the seat cushion itself. Do they really? And since you're the resident seat expert here, what's the difference between the "comfort seat" and the "multi-function seat" as offered on the M5 (both cost $1900)? Quote:

My 535 seats are the multi-contour 20 way comfort seat. Don't know what year they came to the X5, but recent models list that same nomenclature, so I assume it is an E70 thing. The M5 can also have the active side bolsters that inflate when cornering. |
