Differences in seats (comfort seat??)

How many different seats are there in the X5?

In my previous posts, I told you all about the 2006 that we are probably going to let go. One of the nice things we liked about it was the front seat and how comfortable they were.

It was a non-sport edition with the rectangular steering wheel. The seat was able to pivot about midway and bend forward via a side switch and was motorized. Also, the headrest could be moved up and down with the same button (I think). My question, is this seat available only in a non-sport models or is it also an option on the sport model? I would like to find one with it during my search. How can I tell visually?

I think it's called a comfort seat....not positive though.

Thanks again for everyone's help here!

That is a comfort seat. Depending on the model, it has up to 20 adjustments, and is articulating. The other seats are the regular seat, and the sport seat. You can get the comfort seats with or without the sports package, depending on the option packages selected.

Once you have had the comfort seats, nothing else compares.

Rectangular steering wheel? Like on Kitt? Wow that's pretty cool.

Thanks so much!

Glad to hear it's available on the sport model. I can't remember but is there another button beside the ones shown here?

BTW, since it is my sworn obligation to disagree with everything JCL writes (we have a little rivalry going please excuse it) the comfort seats are great especially if you are wider down below since they are basically flat and have no additional adjustment. However, I find the sport seats to be more supportive due to their side bolsters and the adjustable thigh support especially for spirited driving (whatever that is.. okay driving fast with no cops around). If they could have the seat pad of the sport seat combined with the comfort seat backrest now that would be one seriously comfortable sport seat! In fact, I'm gonna tell that dude to do this mod on his gas to diesel transplant X5 !

Yes there's another one on top of the big vertical one.

What's another $5k in seats with the $50k conversion! That sounds sooooooo complicated to do. I read that post......wow!
