for the people that did this mod, around how much CM or wire did you guys need? I'm thinking of buying pre-wired ones and was just wondering which length to get them in.

sorry to hear mrbmwx5, hope everything is fine :(

I just purchased some leds yesterday and were gonna try them since they say these are supposedly brighter but they look pretty big. It doesn't matter if these ones don't fit since they are relatively cheap anyways. They are different from the ebay ones I sent you through pm.

How did you determine the ohm amount, when I calculate I get like 97ish is what's needed, not 220.

Hi mrbmwx5. Can you give me a hint. I ordered the LEDs that you mentioned. I have a few questions.

1. Where can I buy the resistors? And is 220 Ohm what I will need?
2. How do I pop the door handle cover off? I am guessing from the inside with a screwdriver.
3. I can't find 24ga wires anywhere locally? Is there a place on line that you know where I can pick some up?

Thanks again.

SuperbrightLEDS also sell the resistors. I order the LED and resistors from them. Just haven't got the time to do the mod yet.

Damnit where the hell are the resistors on that shitty ass site? I swear the search never works for me on that thing. Please help.

Edit: might have found them. gotta get in touch to edit my order. Thanks.

Putting LEDs in are a bit harder than I thought. I went with a different type of LEDs, and it's hard to angle all of them to shine the same. I have 3/4 doors done, but will probably re seat the leds so I can try to get a more uniformed/ OEM look. Will post pictures when I finish.

hey hopefully i get a response from someone but i wanted to do this mod to my x5 so i ordered these 5 mm led but i got them pre-wired now the thing is i know he said do not put the resistor next to the led light the i just notice the the resistor on this prewire one are beside the led so does that mean i can't use these leds?
