Definitely - I'm not a big modder or super good with cars, and I was able to do it in about an hour. I actually put the Aux input in the ashtray, right near the cigarette snuffer.

One question for the more experienced - would I get better sound quality by getting an ipod dock connector cable, or from using the ipod headphone out?

Hey quick question guys... if I have Nav + DSP + CD Changer in a 2006 can I still use the Aux Input? Or does it negate my changer or anything?

I am also interested in installing the aux input on my 05 (no navigation) ... it seems like below is the aux input I should be getting. Is this an OEM product, or an aftermarket one?

Does anyone know if it works with iphone 3g as well? (I don't see why not, but I do have a charger for ipod that doesn't work with iphone 3g, so who knows.) I don't understand this part of the description either... I think it is misleading:

"The dock connector also allows you to control the volume of your iPod through your stereo or computer instead of having to adjust the volume on the iPod."

I am sure you are still controlling the volume of the aux output device (car stereo, home stereo, etc.) and not the volume of the aux input device (iPod).

It doesn't negate your changer. It simply adds an additional mode.

That is the OE BMW aux input, not aftermarket. Don't know about the cable working on a iphone. E-mail or call Tom at EAS and ask.
