Dsc will try and brake the spinning wheels so that the differential will apply power to the wheel that is not spinning, because it thinks there is traction on the other side. If you are in mud, and the wheels are spinning like crazy, the dsc will just keep alternating the braking back and forth because as soon as it brakes the spinning side, the other side spins out. I was told that this will eventually fry the system, at least heat your rotors up. Simple rule... If you know you are gonna be spinning for a while, turn dsc off.

Consider getting it bulletproofed. Not too safe down there these days unfortunately.

New to the board with an '05 E53 4.4i but she's staying on the road.
The off-road toy here is a Land Rover Disco II. :D

Nice discovery....

What do you call a Land Rover that doesn't leak oil?

EMPTY!

sorry---couldn't help it....I've owned a fairly heavily modded Defender 90 (which I still miss) and two Range Rovers (which I don't), so just a little good natured humor.

Thanks, no offense taken here. Rovers do like marking their territory ;)
