Thats an easy fix. Just step up and be the man of the house, wear the pants in the family. Most women dont care too much of stuff they dont understand, just as long as they look good.

 I am not afraid of getting yelled at or beaten. My wife is actually pretty cool about anything I want to do. The X5 was her dream car and she has to haul clients around for work. I just didn't want her to be unhappy with it or think it sounded to loud. Now if you will excuse me I need to give her her daily :troutslap :hammer: :smackass: :chair: :spank: :slap:

Thread-Hijack Terminated!

Thread re-hijack.

I ordered mine the other day.. I was watching the clip and got scared.. LOL. can't wait to put them on.. going on vacation for the weekend so will ge it to it next week.

Thread hijack over.

I love the oval tips. had the quad round and had a choice to go chrome 4 quad or dual oval and went dual oval.. i like the fact that the X5 has different tips than all the other cars out there with round tips..

Actually, now that I think about it, I do like the oval tips b/c it really distinguishes the 4.6/4.8s from the regular x5s. I would say the 4.6/4.8 models really come close to the ///M cars, but of course, its just not made for that.

BTW, the X-pipe should be the 1st mod anyone with a 4.8is does! WOOWZER! I'm still excited by the sound. God, its so fricking mean! Now you hear it rumble up on start and when you give it a rev, OMG, watch out! Its got a bark to go along with the bite now! My neighbors just LOVE me even more now!

I don't like the oval tips at all. The quads are much more classic, IMO.

I find myself agreeing (sought of) with this, along with 'black02'.

The E53's are obviously the first generation of the X5 and therefore naturally fall into the catagory of being the original BMW SAV and in time will eventually will be seen as the 'classic X5'. If you don't agree with this let's all regroup and look back at this statement vehicle in say 20 years or so.

Now this is just my opinion (yeah, I know we're all sick of hearing that) but chances are that exhaust pipes as we know them today could well end up being something completely different in appearance and along with possibly belonging to vehicles in gone by days. Are we not heading for greener and more electrical days ??

So for our E53's to have that older / racing style look with a pair of twin pipes as opposed to the more modern cut of 2 single rounded rectangular tips is not a bad thing.

I trolled through many pages of 'exhaust tips' reading and looking at what seems to be an almost split preference in the noisy end with the more modern tips coming home in first. Whatever your bent, enjoy those tips.

Yup, hate the ovals, like the pair of twins... expected from a classical guy like me...
