Hey guys,
Glad to join the titanium silver club with Zerochief's, Rich's, Essam's, MTX5, and Jayjay's! May be we should start a new thread to showcase all the Titan Silver
TwinsPoppa - I'm not sure about the vortex.. but I did think about adding the AC replica hatch spoiler, in black!
themoth - Good luck on your projects. Not all mods cost a lot of money. You'd be surprised how little I spent in doing the whole thing!
Jayjay - No problem. I'll take some close up pics shortly and post them. But for the "Kidney", I only painted the two "Kidney Rings" in Matt Black, leaving the "Kidney Grill" in the original titanium color. This helps to bring some details in the overall look of the Kidney (all black will look too flat and a little too ricey for me)
bchrurch05 - no, I didn't buy a new set of rims. Just used the existing 87's and painted matt black, no powder coating. I'm not sure about which product as I left it to the workshop to do the job while I was on an overseas trip.
Strip9r - there should be quite a few titan silver with black wheels on this forum. And nope, I didn't paint them myself, sent them to the workshop. My advise on the black 87's w/ silver lip: do go too think on the silver border, it will make your rims look smaller visually if it's too thick. Mine was only about 2mm, just up to the tiny "mark" at the end of each spoke.
ZsX503 - Wow... "on any BMW" Yeh, I was pleasantly surprised too with the OEM/amber colored AE. I only wish they were brighter. Will try to post some high res later.
Essam - I actually like painted bumpers most of the time, check out my X3 album from my signature ;) Oh yeh.... I really should update my sig soon :p:
Michelle- wow... over 12k post :wow: But it's nice to hear from such senior member :p:
weasel56- you are absolutely right about black rims being washed out in black, and that is exactly why I added the thin border to rims to avoid them been washed with the tyres and wheel archs. The red calipers was also a little trick added back a little (but loud :p: ) detail. If I remember, Rasta's ferric wheels are 214 or 215 (both of them I like very btw and I was seriously considering them), personally I don't think either one will work with the silver ring because the spokes of these rims is making a pretty strong "statement" already, adding the silver ring might make be make them look too "busy".
