This might help too. This shows a plastic clip unhooked. It kind of pops away with a twist of a screw driver.

I undid the clips from inside the box. It will give you some space to work on removing the metal clips from injector connectors. You can pull back the box a little and work the metal clips.

Get a small pick and a small magnet in case you drop a metal clip.

Thanks Luke, we will try that. We cannot get the valve cover back on, we did get it off.

Thank you to weasal, amacman and Luke. Apparently what did the trick are the tips in Amacman's link, even though for a different car, same engine, what was printed worked. Got the car back together, and so far it seems to be running fine, with no leaks. I will take it out for a test drive tomorrow. Only drove it a short while today, seemed fine.
