the 5 took about a week of getting use to.. it was kinda hard to back up at night but it becomes normal real fast.

if you have the rear privacy glass what tint % in the front would you need to match it as closely as possible?

I'm looking to get my front windows tinted to match the rears soon thanks

A good tinter is a great artist.
My fave tinter used to actually be my tinters helper. Not going to say a peep as he was my tinters *helper*. The helper has moved on to bigger britches but when you find a good *artist* , it's very hard to move away....

here is my 04 4.4I, i just did the tint job last thursday. front is 35% and back is 25%.
**I don't know if you already did your tint job, but this might help you decide**

can you guys get close ups on the "active matrix" part of the window? it seems like no one can get them done properly so it doesn't look all bubbly? maybe it's just the place i went to, but it bothers me when i see it every now and then i'm tempted to go back and have it re-done..

When i decided to have the glass tinted i was going to have 20% at back and 30% at the front but
Where i took my car to workshop there was another X5 06 there with Stock oem tinted Glass”!
Decided to have exactly the same as the stock tinted glass (35%) all round with no regrets, it looks like factory done”!

just took mine to the local shop and had the fronts tinted to match the stock rear privacy glass. 35% did the job it matches perfectly and looks great!

Sorry for the delay in response Moth. The sunroof was closed, but the inner shade was retracted to let some light in. You can see the sun on the passenger headrest, but the roof is not in the vent position. I really like it, it matches great and looks totally factory installed.
