I would do it again in a heart beat. As for the other questions, they are aftermarkets, 19x10 in the back 19x9 in the front.

I have 15mm to go on the front, but I haven't put them on yet because I haven't made it to the store to order them up.

My plan is to lower it just a tad to tuck the wheels in the wheel well better. the problem is, I have that auto leveling suspension in the rear and am not sure how to go about dropping it with that. I don't want anything extreme, as I want the ride quality. I just want to tuck the wheels a little more and get some handling. If someone could post a link to the stuff I need to get to drop this, I would really appreciate it.

Well, looks good and more importantly great to hear that the handling is substantially improved. It will be interesting to see how big the chage is in the drive once you do the fronts too. please keep us posted!

Also, what are the tire sizes you are running?

I had lowered my old non-sport 2002 X5 with the H&R kit and loved it. All the benefits you'd expect and not too harsh of a ride (although I am pretty tolerant of a stiff ride). I didn't have the air suspension that you do so I'm not sure how it will go for you. Seems like Weasel hit it with his input on the dealer changing the rear for you.

Anyway looks sweet!!!!!

Lightwerks...I'm using H&R 30mm in the back and H&R 15mm in the front. Still haven't put the fronts on yet, hopefully this weekend. I'll post pic's on this thread when I do. This whole rear air suspension thing seems like its going to make droppin it a hassle. Whats in run on average to drop an X with a set up like I have

Nice cant wait to see. I believe you need to go to the dealership to have them reset the ride height.

Are you planning to drop the front as well? If so, I would recommend the H&R Springs kit, which has the lowering springs for the front and links for the rear. The H&R dealer / workshop installed everything for me, so I didn't have to bring to it to the stealer to reprogram (can charged me a bomb!).

Hi mate, as far as i'm aware all x5s have rear air suspension

Weasel 10-10-2010 05:48 PM

Not all X5's, but all V8 X5's have rear air suspension. 4 wheel air is an option mostly found on the 4.8is and it is all a very rare option on the 3.0i.

Hi, loving your ride mate, was wondering: have you tried fitting 30mm spacers in the front as well? The reason i'm asking is that i'm about to buy the same spacers you have but i also want the front to have the same look. Any suggestions would be wellcome, thanks in advance

I wouldn't recommend using 30mm spacers in the front. If you want to have a uniform look but not too aggressive then try 10-15mm max.

See Simon's X here:

If I remember correctly, he uses 25mm in the back. At the front he used either 10 or 15mm in the front (can't remember). I think his X's stance is great!

Thanks, TwinsPoppa ;-)

That is correct, 15mm front and 25mm in the back!
