Biggest subwoofer ever installed in the X5 (maybe :)

I've installed the Deep Blue 12 Dual Subwoofer system powered by a Magnat Audio 800W RMS amp.
The factory installed subs are still in place, however with this one...I can rock the party :D
The Deep Blue 12 has a 700W RMS/1400W max power featuring a proper wooden casis ( I hate plastic or other materials, they never provide the same sound) . Sensitivity is 93db with resonance frequency at 2Ohms.
However, the Magnat amp is still not enough to push this sub to the limit, as its max power is somehow overhated. I suspect the amp has power losses at the end of its peak level .

However, THE SOUND IS FANTASTIC! I can turn all the car alarms on the street on with the volume at around 70%.

Played some tracks from "Rage against the machine"...it's like being on the stage :)

Cool... but you know what, i think for a car there is a limit to what is "normal"... i mean after a certain limit, louder doesn't give a better sound for those inside the car (unless you're going camps and your car is acting as the DJ)... not to mention the reduction in cargo area...

Awesome! I bet if you turn it up to 85% you'll be heard in Kentucky!

You have any favourite tracks you wanna hear? Considering the speed of sound and the distance from Romania to US, you'll have to wait a while.
Hopefully you won't be hearing voices in between :P :P

PS I hope with the volume upto 100% God will be hearing something.

Looks good !!!

I take it that 'gabori' don't care much about the noise there huh? ;)

Now I miss the days of overdone stereos.... I split the surrounds on 2 12" JL W7s with the 'ol rodek amp I put bigger coils in. (something to be said about a "300 watt rms amp" pushing 2 1000 watt subs out of their surrounds that threw people off!)

haha, yeah - 1 W7 Sub is plenty

In my former years, I had some 12" W6's with a Precision Power Amp in my Expedition. Loved to cruise in it, but when the music is off, the horrible rattles and panel shifts were unbearable. I was shaking the car apart.

I could not do that to my X5 - although some have some small rattles (mine thankfully does not have any), driving around in the car that sounds like it's falling apart doesn't appeal to me anymore.

But to the OP - as long as you keep the music up, keep rockin!

Nothing like hearing a car going down the road so loud that the body panels are rattling.

LOL!!:iagree:w/Justin...

10 years ago I was running polk audio mids and highs all the way around with 2 JL 12" subs......all monster cable.....Alpine head...etc/etc/etc.....

A competition sytem in one of my Vdubs......

Funny..now 10 years later I could care less about the stereo but love modding the Sh*t out of the X.... and I am deaf to boot!!
