The unit above your MID, which is the Radio/Business CD contains the actual components of your radio and CD player. |
1. Remove the volume knob from the MID. Should use a #8 Torx wrench.

If you leave the Torx driver in, turn and pull the driver it will release and the radio will come out very nicely. http://homepage.mac.com/davefriesen/...W-Images/2.jpg 4. Pull out MID and disconnect connections. http://homepage.mac.com/davefriesen/...W-Images/3.jpg To remove Business CD/Tape (Complete steps 1-3, in addition to the ones below). 4. Below should be to allen bolts/torx screws. Unscrew these to screws. Note that they will only loosen not come completely out. http://gudztuff.com/images/stories/b...allen_bolt.jpg 5. Slide the unit out. http://gudztuff.com/images/stories/blog/e39/cd_pull.jpg |
Thanks but the torx screw is broke off. Any ideas or pics of the mechanism that hols the MID in. Thanks

If my memory serves me correctly if you look at photo #3, the upper left corner behind the MID is the latching mechanism. The right side has a lip that just slides out once the left side is undone. Either you have to unhook that latch on the left side, or pry out the right side somehow to hopefully make the left side "pop". You could try removing the HVAC control unit and seeing if you can get the right side out. |
