Me too. Just a flicker when both of them are plugged in. Cant get them to stay on. I have an 01.

See the little white circle on the right underside of the mirror. Looks like this only on an X5, they're much smaller.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I did the swap today and ended up with the same problem, though due to the help of a friend who's an electronics whiz, I fixed it.

Solution 1 (preferred): Go to Radio Shack and grab a package of two 10 watt 50 ohm resistors. Wire them in parallel to the mirror light wiring (you can do it on one side and it'll work fine), tape it all up, mount them, and call it a day. Before putting it back together, keep the lights on for a minute or so and make sure that your resistors do not get too hot. I used big ceramic ones and they got to maybe 130-140 degrees after 4 cycles (the lights are never on long so I don't care), so I mounted them.

Solution 2 (this way is unreliable): You can get the bulbs in this thread here (194 168 W5W 2825Supernova Bulbs With Metal Heat Sink), however, I have used these bulbs and their reliability is nothing short of horrible. They will burn out within a month or two.

I am much happier with the reliability of the ones that I have purchased from Superbright LEDs, and personally, I would stick with option 1 if you don't want any headaches.
