Hello all-
So I think the perforated alcantara interior is too hard to find, wishful thinking i guess. The titanium trim is also pretty rare I guess, but I have seen trim kits on Ebay for a few hundred bucks. Has anyone used one of these to switch their trim? How hard is it to replace the pieces from wood (whatever I buy will prob. have this) to the "aluminum"? Thanks |

yeah. That's an amazing combo. I pretty much have no chance of finding one exactly how I want it i guess...at least i can switch the trim

So I found a LeMans blue 2006 with 60,000 miles and the 100k extended warranty. Too many miles, should I be worried or am I in good shape with the extended plan? Also, whats a fair price if its in pretty good condition?
Im not giving up on finding an X5 yet!!!!! |
fair price would be mid to high 20s. I wouldn't worry about miles, rather, look at the overall condition of the paint, exterior, interior. Some people could drive thousands of miles but never carry another soul or thing in their car so its practically new. Or they could have hauled 3 kids and dog for 25k miles and it would be torn to shit inside.
plus the CPO warranty is better than the regular warranty so I wouldn't worry about it. Even better IMO. |
hey everybody, I have an 05 4.8is. Black on Black leather/Alcantara with 33,400miles. No navi but everything else. All stock except for the 30mm rear spacers and X pipe. full service history from BMW, just picked it up about 3months ago but for the right price i would let it go, want a new e92 M3 coupe. pm me an offer.

JT///MC, you are the man, thanks for helping me through this. I looked at a car today with about 60,000 on it- it has the extended -maintenance- (not warranty) which is nice. Do I need to worry about suspension, trans, or (I've heard its a nightmare) water pump issues not being covered? Also, how hard it is to switch the trim?
Thanks again @robertjanev-pm sent |
i traveled to maryland fron NYC to pick up my 2006 x5 4.4 with 19k on it! haven't regretted it since.

Thats funny b/c when I bought my car it had the extended maint plan too. Not too bad as its not cheap to keep these cars running. I was able to get BMW to goodwill my intermediate lever fix b/c I asked really nicely. Hopefully nothing else big blows up like my tranny or anything, but hey, I really wanted Estoril in the facelifted body. The biggest issue is the air ride with the 4.8is (other than the intermediate levers, but than is an 04 build issue, tho there have been later years who have had the issue), water pump, and tranny. So you pretty much hit it on the mark. Those are the big things so a CPO warranty is gonna be your safest bet. It covers all those things. |
