If you are not having a problem then there is nothing to be fixed. Why not just ask th SA to have the x looked over while it is in. Check fluids and all that type of stuff it would make you feel good. But they would not charge me a single dime for the mirrors. Good Luck!

the service guy at the dealer tried to tel me that if microswitch is broken it is not under warranty? should i just say that it is? or what should i do in that situation if the guy (potentially the service advisory) tells me that warranty does not cover it?

if you think the issue is not caused by abusive use but rather the manufacture defect, or wear and tear, escalate this to upper level of management beyond your SA or visit other bmw dealer in the area. if there is nothing visually and physically broken and the mirror just doesn't fold right, it should be covered. my last SA at my local dealer took care of everything i said or worried that will break. i went to the dealer 4 times a month just to get everything i dont feel right about my car fixed. he was happy to do so. here is the simple list on the E60: front seat airbag sensors, iDrive, Brake sensors, Brake rotors and pads, creaking doors, noisy tires, noisy suspension, sway bar, active steering, headlight yellowing, door sills, door seals, fading leather backseats, brake fluid flush, coolant flush, oil change, transmission update, 40 more items IN A MONTH. and those are not real issue, i just want them to replace it because i dont feel good about it thats all. FREE, nothing out of my pocket. I get 528i loaners every each time. At the end of that month, the car feels like it just came out of the assembly line.
