I believe you've officially graduated to the cabal of mod-junkies on this forum

You are to blame for all of this! I wasn't going to buy myself a birthday present mod, but when you brought it up, some how I justified it! Thanks!:thumbup:

Couple of questions!

  • Do you really have to remove the rear HVAC Vents? I removed the plastic director but it seems like I could leave the vents int here.
  • Once everything is unhooked how hard to you pull back and up on the entire console? It seems like its gotta budge quite a bit!

I didn't remove the vents just the tub going to it. As for pulling up, you will need to pull back about 2 inches first as there are 2 or 3 position pegs in the front. Be careful when lifting out not to let the pins scratch the dash.. You are best off positioning the passenger seat all the way down and back so you can slide the console up and over. Three things to remember, 1. connect all plugs when putting it back in, 2 cover the seat and dash with towels, 3. you can do it... It took me about an hour and I was so frustrated I almost gave up. Also, to get the shift know out put it in nutral, climb in the back seat, pull up while falling back... Good luck

I ordered mine from this guy: I know some other Xoutpost members have purchased trim kits from him as well.

eBay My World - norwoodenterprises864

No, it doesn't come with the shifter you can probably keep an eye out on ebay for one. I just ordered mine from the dealership, with a BMWCCA discount and my relationship with them it wasn't that expensive.

That's the one thing I am trying to do! But look at that Titanium Silver Trim pic that JohnD posted! Sexyness!

Thanks for the pointers! I got a little frustrated the first time I partially did it, sometimes I am just afraid to give it a good YANK! Just out of curosity I called the dealership to see the price to remove the console, $275.00.
