Jsear - As long as you have the 2 bolts on the bottom middle, the top bolt by the shifter, and the two in the back (I think that's it) it should pop right out. Do yourself a favor and be sure to buy some torx bits - there are three sizes on the bottom, one for the ashtray lid, on for the button insert, and the other for the bezel.. This is what pissed me off most, I had to run to the store half way through the job for the right tool. I bought my kit from the same seller, and got the shift knob from Tischer BMW for like $80. Not sure if you will dig the following pics, but I installed gauge faces the following week, and they look sick with the new trim..

JohnD, nice cluster mod! Fortunately for the 4.8is you get a pretty sweet cluster already!

Finally got around to removing the console today and installing the trim. Couple of hang ups removing the console, especially getting it around the e-brake, but other than pretty simple and straight forward. I found it works best to have 2 people remove it and put it back in. Took about 3 hours in total to remove and install, and that was including a trip to Home Depot to get some torx wrenches that I thought I had but I didn't!
