Interesting find. I don't think putting the emblems on is a good idea though.

FA93 in VIN is USA body code for all X5 4.8is.
FA91 & FA92 is body code for Europe bound X5 4.58is

:iagree: If anyone has any concrete info I would like to see it. Otherwise, this is just another episode of the non-existant Alpina X5 thread. Did Alpina have something to do with engine designs on the e53? Yes, but as far as I am concerned, if you can't find proof of existance of an e53 Alpina on their own website, then it didn't exist.

BMW ALPINA - E21

Barack Obama is African American, so does this mean all African American people are president? I dont think Alpina makes any original cars. Correct me if i am wrong.

Alpina is considered to be a manufacturer, not a tuner, so I guess they technically make original cars. They are just based on BMW models. According to their website, they are the only company that works with BMW in the development process of new BMW models before they are even public. Who else makes the B3, D3, B5, B6 or B7? Only Alpina, so they must be original.

Alpina is to BMW what Ruf is to Porsche. Both are based heavily on the the larger manufacturers cars, but are technically considered sseperate and original manufacturers.

Also, Obama is an African/Caucasian American.
