I have a 2002 e53 with nav TV tape and CD changer I have removed stereo but don't seem to have the aux plug in the loomis there another way of installing an aux input?

You need a 2003 or newer to have AUX IN. To remedy change your radio unit at the trunk to a 2003+ type and you can add the cable for AUX-IN.

I have a 2002 X5 with the Business CD. I thought it had the AUX input configured in the radio once (but I might be mistaken on that). I have been trying to code it in to the BMW Bus CD in my 2002 E53 - the option is there in the trace file when I download the module (using NCS Expert) and I select the option to turn on AUX in the RAD Module (within NCSDummy see attached image), but when I upload the modified module (FSW_PSW.MAN) back to the radio I get the error depicted in my attachment = it is a COPI 2060 error from NCS Expert - Codierung fehlerhaft (allgemein) - in English - General Incorrect Encoding.

So my question for the NCS Expert experts out there...

1. Is that an error generated when the option simply is not available in the hardware of the module (in my case the Business CD HU),
2. Am I possibly uploading the wrong file back?
3. Is something wrong with how I am making the change to turn on the AUX funtion?
4. Am I messing with the wrong module/ECU?

I have read many of the threads on how to turn on this option using NCS Expert, and I believe I followed all the steps correctly. I also seem to be able to write to other modules in the car successfully, so I am not convinced it is an error with my NSC expert setup, but, I am new to messing with NCS Expert, so I am ALL ears.

Get a Blubus, it will be your best option and you won't have to replace the factory radio with some crappy aftermarket thing. https://www.bluebus.dev

Hey! Thanks for that suggestion. I had never heard of a BlueBus. Already contacted Ted at BlueBus - unfortunately he is not shipping at the moment due to supply chain issues on the chipset apparently.

I MUCH prefer that BlueBus solution to one of these Chinese-made HUs - All seem to have issues and it seems difficult to get straight answers to questions. I bought an Eonon unit a few years back - half the functions did not work, controls never lit up at night (so was impossible to use the thing in the dark), steering controls did not work, and the screen, given the angle it was mounted at, was totally unreadable in daylight. In short - it was trash. Took me over 6 months to get my money back, so once bitten, twice shy of buying a Chinese-made HU. I also noted that few if any of the vendors selling these replacement HUs on Amazon are enrolled in Amazon's Prime program - there is a reason for that.

Thanks again for that suggestion - the BlueBus seems to be the sort of thing I am looking for and it appears of have EXCELLENT integration with the car. Just hope it will work with my unit and wish I could get one sooner than later. :-(

AVIN units work fine. They cost a little extra because you're dealing with a US based vendor. And also because at least some of the knockoffs are literally copies of the AVIN that have been messed with to make them seem slightly different.

Yes, the angle of the display in the E53 sucks. That is what it is.

The bluebus is the best option even if you have to wait a bit. IMO every single aftermarket radio/display is trash compared to an OEM radio. I have a blubus in my X5 and M5 and they work perfectly.

Yup, I have been doing some reading on the BlueBus and it looks like the ideal solution for what I need and it appears my car has all the wiring pre-requisites for it. Others might want to swap their HUs out, but my experience with the Chinese-made ones was not at all positive. While installation was pretty straightforward, functionality, performance, support, integration and reliability were no where close to what was advertised.

The one question I do have re BlueBus is how do you take advantage of the other iBus features and tweaks it offers (like the one touch indicator for lane changes etc) if you do not have the fancier Nav radio in your car to display configuring those options via the BlueBus? The videos show an E39 with the Nav radio being used to setup various options via the BlueBus but, I have a basic Business CD system.

Another question I had was can it support more than one Bluetooth device (like a tablet and a smartphone) at the same time.
