Can I install AUX in 2001?
 

Ok I understand there is Aux info everywhere but I cant figure this out. My last BMW had some limitations.

I have a 2001 4.4 X5 with Business CD, 6 CD Changer and DVD overhead in rear.

How can I install just a simple Aux input?

Thats for a X5 with a screen, I only have a Business CD player and 6 disc changer. That doesnt answer if it will work in a 2001.

i think it would be the same wiring for cd and nav some connectors may be hidden, i was told by someone all x5's are pre wired for every option i could be wrong.

get the AUX input kit from BSW. I have it and love it. easy to install

I seem to remember reading that the aux cable doesn't work with the 2001s, even those with the 16:9 nav -- only with 2003 or later, something like that. Anyone confirm or deny???

I have a 2001 and was told by the dealer this wont work

think you need production date (of radio) to be past feb/march 2002... i know mine was too old for that and i have a 2002 X5. (i put in eclipse AVN-6620)
