12mpg helpppppppppppppppp!!!!

Hi guys, i have a 2002 X5 with 51,000 miles on it. I am getting 12 mpg city driving with the x....!!! the regular fuel in our country is 95, the premium is 98...i use 95...has anyone experienced this? 12mpg with a 3.0i ?????? thanks :yikes:

Thats not that bad if you are an enthusiastic driver as I am. I usually only get in the mid teens with a little bit of hwy miles thrown in. I am also driving 2003 3.0i with 117k mi on it.

It depends how you drive. I have no experience with the 3.0, though. I used to get high 12s to high 13s on my '05 4.4 city driving

The only time I have ever gotten mileage that low is when I was towing something, and I have 177K on my 3.0.

im running 14-15mpg in my 3.0. depending on how you drive i don't think thats shocking..

Some thing wrong with your guys 3.0i LOL
I get 18/27 on mine 01 3.0.

Me too - I am always the first to leave the stoplight, but I still average 18mpg.

bad plug(s), dirty air filter, fuel filter, worn out Oxygen sensors, hole in the exhaust, mad MAF... flat tire?

is the car running hot? enough coolant/oil?

rocky1536 11-18-2009 04:15 PM

I drive mine pretty hard and get just under 15mpg with barely ANY highway miles and most of my driving done in downtown Seattle (SERIOUS hills).

And this is with a 4.4i..Now THAT is funny!:wow::rofl:
