Again "AUTOLEVEL SUSP INACT"

I have 2 axis EHC2 air suspession. Several months ago "AUTOLEVEL SUSP INCAT" error appeared. I went to diagnostics - there was an error "Reservoir pressure remains the same at 11.6 Bar". They did all the tests and cleared the error. Everything was fine for another 6 months.

Now it again appeared with outside temperatearound 0C. The same error. Have connected BMW DIS - done all the tests - system not loosing pressure, cleared the error. Was happy for 2 days then again the same.

Also noticed that the car going up and doing (while pressing suspession adjustment button) very slowly. First comes rear part and only in 30-60 sec front.

There could be 4 options:
- replace Air Compressor in the crank (now working a little bit louder, operating temperature 99C)
- replace Air Reservoir
- replace Air reservoir Valve Unit
- replace ECU

Has somebody got the same error and how it was fixed?

Forgotten to mention that car behaves well on the road. Not lower or higher than usual.

Mine is in the shop right now for the same error. Initially, I was told it was a "false alarm". This was cleared, but recurred before I could drive off the dealership's lot. They checked again, and said the compressor must be truly shot. However, they are now fighting with the extended warranty folks to get it covered. I am in a loaner while all this is being done. :)

Looks like the only way is to replace compressor in the trunk...

I had the same problem;took it to my mechanic and it turned out to only be a fuse.

Fuse is definetelly not my case. Suspenssion is working but going up/down very slowly. Tests didn't show smth. wrong.

I had this same thing last week. I took it to the Stealer and they quoted $1800 to fix. Well, I ordered the part from Tischer for half of the dealer quote and went to pick up the X while I wait for the part to ship. Magically, the error was gone when I picked it up. The Stealer said the error would return because there were "multiple errors in the control module" but it hasn't yet after many miles of driving. I am glad that I went to get it before paying $1800 for something that was potentially unnecessary.

Anyone have an idea on how long it typically takes for errors to reappear after clearing the codes?

From hours to months depending on temperature and compressor condition. When it is cold mine reappears in several hours - so will order new Air Supply Unit. Which actually has WABCO compressor in it. Compressor itself should cost half of BMW price.

Is this an inherent problem with the autolevel susp?

Been having the same issue for months now. Finally got it down to either the ehc unit or compressor. Could possibly be both but the shop wants to replace the ehc first and see if the compressor is good. They ran test on the truck for three days making sure there were no leaks or any problems with the airbags in which they bypass the ehc to lift the truck up and down.

Wow, small world. See my post above - I bought the EHC from Tischer BMW and had it sent to my Mother's house in Summerville so I could pick it up while visiting for Thanksgiving. I am not going to use it since my problems have vanished (for now.) It is in an unopened box if you want to buy it from me. If not, I am going to return it to Tischer. Let me know quickly because I'm leaving SC on Monday.
