Angry SA!!!

Wondering if your service advisers are as moody as this guy:

I just bought my first BMW on 30 December. I worked in a few things in the deal for the dealership to fix. I bought it at the Mercedes dealership so they sent it to the BMW dealership to fix. All and all they covered a bill of over $800. Two days ago I purchased 4 new tires and everything that goes with that. Over $1K. SA called me and said I needed new brake pads and it would be $299 to replace, just the pads the disks are fine. I said I would do it myself and he copped an attitude!! "well when people do this themselves, they end up messing up the wear sensor and they have to come back anyway". I again said no, he got a little pissy and just hung up the phone without as much as a good bye or I'll call you when your car is done. That's the second time he has done that to me!!!!!

find a new place for tires and keep the DIY program. This site is great for helping fix things.

Typical of them! They think we are idiots!... huh?! They try by all means to maximize profit even where they dont need to! The least he or she would have said was "Sir It was just an advice but make sure it is changed for the next service... by the way your car will be ready in...hrs or days" Something like that!

Thank you for the replies. It also took them from 9:45 to 3:10pm to change tires and do alignment! I think he delayed it after I said NO to him. He called me before noon to tell me that they were done mounting the tires and that I need to change pads.
I have used this site to change oil, buy genuine oil and filter online, buy brake pads, learn how to change them, air cabin filter, air filter purchase, and next week I will change my own spark plugs. I love this site!!!!;)

Sometime I wonder if SA has some comission program like CA does?

They always like to recommend little things out of waranty but never do when car is under waranty, make you scratch your chin and go ehmmmmm....

If shops mess up brake jobs, thats pathetic. Replace the wear sensor and have a good day.

In most dealerships, Service Advisors are paid strictly by commission.

I thought everyone knew this. :dunno:

hey maybe you can explain to him that you use this site and tell him that and lets see what his reaction to that comment will be hehe.

You seriously think the OP would be the first person to tell a service advisor that they read auto forums? What's that going to do? Maybe he should throw in that he slept at a Holiday Inn Express last night.
