Gremlins or hidden feature?

Today my flashers were on but the flasher button wasn't
on and the turn signal lights that flash when the flashers
are on were not flashing either.

I tried to turn the flasher off but no go. It wasn't until used
the turn signal lever for a right turn that they finally stopped
flashing....... Twilight zone....

I would expect the turn signal switch or wiring in the steering column to fail next.

that happened to me on saturday.. I got out and hit the max button to let the air flow while I was in petshop. got back into X. turned it on backed out and left store.. noticed on car in front of me my lights were flashing.. frantically was pressing the hazards lights but nothing worked. said F it signaled for left lane.. and then magically the flashers stopped blinking. Thing is the button or the hazard indicators were not lighting up on the dash while this was happening. Almost like when you use the extended turn signal light feature. And it lights up only one side.. weird indeed. Has not done it since.

Sounds like a problem to me.

Gremlins......
I would rather hope
JCL is wrong:D

Same thing happened to me about around 4 months ago, i ended up turning off the car, enabling the hazard lights and then starting it up with them and i never had the issue pop up ever again.

wow... somehow bmw is sending dash computer firmware upgrades through the bmw assist module... they corrupting our X's and we dont even know it.. Joking.. thats weird thought how some of us are getting this.. 06 3.01i

QwkAg,
Maybe your car just knows you are getting slightly older;
thus, the 4 ways come on automatically, as you motor down
the road, giving other drivers an alert...

 ... ;)

Haven't had the hazard issue yet but occasionally (more often that I would like) at night my headlights turn off for about 3-4 seconds and turn back on by themselves. Talk about get your attention quick! May be the same gremlins.

I think I'm going to get a 330D....
