Auto-tilt passenger mirror freaking out
If I have the passenger mirror engaged to tilt on my truck when I go in reverse, it will motorize down, then up, then down again, and continue the process. What is causing this? Bad module? Bad mirror? Thanks for the help. BTW, the car does not have power folding mirrors, and it's an 02 4.6is.

Good question . . . mine does that too but have been too busy fixing other stuff to address. However I will :popcorn:to see what the repair is.

to my understanding, bad mirror motor fixed by replacement. well, at least that's what they tell me when under warranty...

Yep, it's the right window motor aka right mirror drive repair kit P/N 67138381998. Replaced mine a couple months ago (I'm on my second one). I ended up soldering the wires together to ensure a good connection, since there is no wiring harness plug associated with the setup. From what I recall, the kit only comes with some crimping adapters.

Again, I ended up cutting the old mirror motor off the wiring harness, soldered the wires together, and heat shrinked all the wires too. Pretty easy to do. Just be careful when removing the mirror off the motor. I pulled outward instead of pulling upward and broke the mirror. Dan |
Exact same thing happened to mine a year ago, I had the motor replaced and all was well. Now it's doing the same thing I just choose to ignore it now :(

Have you tried flipping the switch?! Mine if the switch is in the position to change the passenager mirror it doesn't flip down, but if I flip it to change the driver mirror and put the vehicle in reverse, then the mirror flips down. I just leave my switch in the middle and it doesn't do it.

Not sure if this is related though, mine used to tilt down but not come up. They said that a charge was building up in the wires and they replaced the whole thing under warranty. '06 4.4 here.
