when braking x5 jurks forward
having a problem.... when braking my x5 lurch forward before stopping, i change the front brakes and rotors but the problem is still there...this action only happen when braking....what could it be?????

maybe ur control arms?

That sounds more like a driveline issue than a braking issue. There have been previous posts on a similar issue before and the majority of opinion was transmission. I remember the fix being fairly easy though. Do a search on it and I'm sure you will run across it. I want to say I saw a post on it between 1-2 weeks ago.

I am guessing your control arm bushings are shot. I had this issue on my 745 with 80K on it and it did that same thing when braking. It was just the driver side, but I replaced both.

have anyone personally tried these?

OK Know I'm really confuse, which one isn't the control arm, or resting the transmission,
|
What does it feel like to you? From what you posted, it resembled the lurch issue which is a common problem that has been posted several times on here. I would try the reset of transmission first as it is definitely the cheapest of the two. If that doesn't help you might know to look at something else.

i know now it not the control arm, when coming to a stop i put the truck in N will braking coming to a stop, there was no lurching,i did that a couple of time's no lurching...than i tried stop normal, the x5 lurch each time will braking it lurch but not when braking in N SO it most be a transmission problem... know how in hell do i reset the Tran.....is it key in position 2 for 30 to 45 sec will push down on gas pedal, than start up x5 and run the hell out of it for a few miles...is that it????
|
???? I did a quick search and didn't find the exact procedure but I didn't search very long. You will find it in here if you do a dedicated search. Sounds like it is the tranny to me too.
