I just used the "blue" regular one, I can get at target for $1.69. Never had any freezing problems or issues with it. I suppose you could use the "orange" lower temp rated one as well.

I also use the blue stuff, but I did try a windshield wash booster. It is amazing!! I use P21s in one car and the original BMW stuff I got from HuskerX5 in my X. I was real skeptical but one squirt and wow! The cleanest windshield I've ever had aside from freshly washed one. Takes the bugs rite off.

I only use the BMW stuff as well. And I was always concerned that boosters like from P21S or Wurth would break down AquaPel faster.

What is the AquaPel?
I wouldn't be surprised it the BMW stuff is P21s. They make a few things that Mercedes just stamps their own label on. The BMW shampoo smells just like the P21s stuff as well, has the exact same consistency too. They claim to be the supplier of these types of products for multiple German car makers. I am using 4 of their different products and have had great luck with them so far. Its only been a year since I discovered them though.

I'll admit that I used the BMW approved clear stuff. It increases the resale value of the X5

A better form of rain-x. It's also made by the same company that makes the windshield on the E53.

 Thank you, I'm on it!

My wipers last about 5 years because I never use them, one more tool to keep me from using them :D

The Bmw stuff aids wind resistance which reduces drag effectively increasing horsepower by 4-11 hp's plus improving gas mileage by 3-4 miles per gallon.:)

Happy to help:thumbup:

It's safe to use on all the windows however you'll get the best results on the front windshield. BMW even sells it. Here's also a great write-up of it:
