How did you fix this issue. I am having the same problem. I tried a new motor and it move in only 1 direction when I tested on the X5. On the bench the motor moves in both direction when I reverse the polarity. Anyone know where the relay that controls the Rear Passenger window is? Car is 2005 X5 N62 engine.

Dave, have you made sure it's not the regulator? I still have not found a fix after replacing just about everything. Still need to figure out if there is a specific module that controls the rear or rightside windows.

I purchased a new Regulator and motor and tried the new motor before I installed it ... the new motor would go up but not down while testing on the car so I plugged back the old motor and sure enough it would not get power going down ( did get power going up but since the window is already up did not move, but I could feel the motor powering up. Thus no power going to motor from relay when the down switch is pressed. Need to find where the relay is and try changing it. Someone said it is on the GM control module??

It sounds like you guys have a broken pin on the door harness where it connects to the body. There is a specific pin that breaks in that harness. You can buy them one pin at a time from BMW.

I think you may be on to something ... Any idea where I should start looking...? Thanks for the info....

I have confirmed on 3 X5's (including mine) that these pins break on every X5.(Eventually) It seems they are too small to carry the current over time they break.

I fixed mine with a couple pins and a little time spent. The plug itself will break completely down if you use a small pick and look at how it comes apart.

That looks like it may be my problem...It too cold up here in Canada this week so I will try when it gets warmer . The connector should be at the Rear door ..correct?... Thanks again.. This Board Rocks and make X5 ownership more affordable...

Hi Dinan_E39,
I will keep in touch and let you know if this is my problem... It sounds like we both have the same issue... Wish I had seen this before I bought the rear regulator... At least I now have a spare... sounds like I will eventually need it.. Cheers

Dave, sounds good. I'll do the same.
