check oil level read out
check oil level read out repeatedly shows on the instrument cluster display, oil checks ok could this be another alert indicator of some other issue? 03 X5 4.4

if the oil level is correct then u could have a bad oil level sensor.

I kinda of thought that could be a sensor issue just checking and not wanting to get bogged down with a service center always so much bs . . . thanks

Easiest thing would be to have the oil level sensor changed with your next oil change, which fixes it 90% of the time. Then if the check oil level message comes back erroneously again have the LCM (lighting control module) recoded as per the above service bulletin.
