Need Help Remove Rear Rotor
Got the two front rotors change, was a piece of cake, the rotors just came off easily. But the rear rotors was a nightmare. Spend almost 2 hours still couldn't get the damn rotors off. I even broke the rubber mallet. I got the rotor screw off, but the rotors just won't slide out, it look like is attached to something when I try to pulled on it. Is there something that I forgot to remove but I pretty sure I followed the instruction exactly as is. Please anyone with little knowledge help me out. Thanks

I'm assuming that you have the caliper off already.
What could be holding the rotor is the park brake lining/shoes if it is worn and has cut a groove into the rotor. Try turning the adjuster to slacken the linings/shoes. |
Make sure parking brake is not engaged and bang the hell out of it. I had to wrap a towel around mine and hit it with larger, steel hammer multiple times.

Yeah, make sure the emergency brake is off.
When I removed my rear rotors, I tugged and pounded on them to no success. I finally sprayed some penetrant and let it sit for 20 minutes. Just one more hit by rubber mallet got the rotors off. |
Thanks alot guys, finally got the rear rotors off and everything is in place:thumbup:. Use lots of pounding and pulling to get that sucker off.

That happened to me once and I tried to get it off with a rubber mallet and nothing happened. I took one swing with a 5 pound slegde hammer and it popped right off. Turns out it was just rusted on.
