My install that I did today didn't require any shaving at all. Once I got the two halves of the cluster separated (which is the only difficult part of this whole project), the rings snapped right into place and they look great

I updated the article on the home page with some additional tips, tricks and pics - with full credit for the article going to our very own "Lord of the Rings", JV :D

I also showed in the article where both JV and I bought our rings from. I got mine from ebay seller bavarian motorwerks (http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAP...ian_motorwerks ), and while his profile says that he is in Taiwan I will tell you that I ordered these on Saturday afternoon and they were on my doorstep on Monday afternoon via USPS Priority Mail delivery. And they were nicely packaged in their own individual plastic sleaves. Now there's no way in hell that these got from Taiwan to Michigan that quick, but whatever the case that is amazing service!!

:goodluck:

Nice job, Jeff! I can't take full credit for that, but at least members will know who to hit up for advice in case they have a question about those gauge rings. I have even been thinking about switching to the aluminum rings like Joll has :D

See if you can get them to turn in place. Try to use some natural oil to help it along, like vegetable or olive oil, nothing too caustic, or it could eat into the plastic. Once you get them turning, they should pop out easier.

Is it me or do these look beveled compared to the rings we have all bought?? I just installed mine the other day with ease, thanks to the DIY...
