I recently had the transfer case replaced under the good faith thing, so I'm wondering if the dealer would help me out again.

Any luck asking the dealer? That would be the only way to find out. If there is a TSB then that should be free right? I'll ask a different SA about the TSB today because mine is creaking on the passenger side. I had them look at it last year and they charged me half an hour. It's still not fixed and was told that it's normal. We'll see

I had a noise that i swore was coming from the sunroof area. I drove around trying to pinpoint it. I had someone else drive while I tried to locate the noise. I took front plastic overhead piece off expecting something to be bouncing around in there. Found nothing. Took it to the dealer and it turned out to be the emergency brake that needed to be adjusted. No more noise now:D ..While driving around slightly lift up on the e brake. If the noise stops its prob. your parking brake..Good luck, i hate annoying noises

There can be no more than 2 goodwill repairs done per vehicle after warranty, and to make things more difficult on the replacement side under warranty... ALL panoramic sunroof replacement/repairs have to be authorized by BMW techline or the warranty claim will not be paid. Meaning too many dealers have been replacing expensive ass sunroofs for repairable problems, and now they have to hold the techs hand to make sure he does it right.

I got a similar thing on an 04 3.0d with the panoramic sunroof, it is an annoying creaking noise, cannot pinpoint it as it coming from behind me, and it does distract me when I drive, if I figure it out will let ya know

I ended up buying some felt pads and some of that camper foam/insulation/tape strip from Lowes. I placed the camper tape along the rear edge of both moonroof windows and placed a couple of felt pads along the rain gutter piece (black piece that covers the joint where the glass meets). So far, 90% of the rattle is gone.

The roads here in Oklahoma are horrid. Maybe next year, I will get the moonroof professionally diagnosed and repaired.
