It turns out my coolant is low. I now have a CEL lamp on. Does the CEL come on when the coolant is low?

I dont think I am going to have access to the recommended coolants right now.

Is it a bad idea to add Prestone to the existing coolant for safety? This would only be temporary until I can do a full coolant flush and replace with the correct fluids.

May this be connected with my temperature gauge issue?

experiencing similar issue...X is due for an oil change, getting coolant check and service engine soon lights.

rough starts, shaking and the engine rumblings have been coming often as of late. scheduled an appointment at my indy and my luck, jersey gets hit with snow again. but wait, it gets better. jump in the X to head to work this AM and it wont start...sighhh, luck has ran out. any insight would be great.

Don't know about the oil and Cel, but shaking I think is due to Eather Ccv hose or MAF sensor. good luck.
