P1112 (Engine Coolant Temperature Radiator Outlet Sensor, High Input)

I have P1112 (Engine Coolant Temperature Radiator Outlet Sensor, High Input) fault code that will not stay cleared. My check coolant caution came on, I opened the top, poured in about half a liter of coolant. BOOM. Service Engine Soon came on after restarting. The code is the 1112. It will clear and stay cleared, until the vehicle is restarted. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello Benny! Great thinking to come to this site and join the thousands of people driving pieces of crap with a BMW badge on it. There are so many intelligent minds on here, I feel privileged to be the first one to save you an expensive trip to the stealer. The fault code you are seeing relates to the temperature sensor located on the coolant line, just behind the rad, on the passenger's side. BMW has carefully snaked the high pressure a/c line around in that area to make the sensor next to impossible to change. Although BMW doesn't list a fix in their mechanic's books, the only solution is to replace the sensor. This costs about $200 bucks at the stealer after diagnostic. You're best off finding someone with skinny arms and claw like hands, and changing it .

As the other friend pointed out for you, this issue really came from a: faulty coolant temperature sensor. But I also wanted to add something more by saying that: (You should'n never mix any more fresh cold coolant in the car after the engine been running Hot!!!) As it may cause some type of dilatation at the gaskets area to go bad where the hot antifreeze travels through. (I strongly recommend you to wait N'till the engine gets cooler, and add some BMW Antifreeze @ the appropriate level.
