I've been running the 418B for probably a year now, and it only cleans the entire window when it's really warm out. Most of the time it only clears the part of the window that the ends touch. So I picked up a 417A yesterday to see if a shorter blade, and the lighter tension of the A blade help. Nope. It's better but still only clears about 30% of the window. Guess the arm needs to come off to clean the corrosion out of the pivot points again. This seems to be an semi-annual activity- change the oil and rebuild the rear wiper arm.

Yeah - I'm starting to think any of the ICON 18" or 17" blades would be fine and that it's my corroded arm that's causing the poor coverage. Nothing a little WD-40 and some elbow grease can't fix :-)

Yep, that's how I fixed mine, found an old can of Slick 50 spray lube I've had since the mid 90's. Sprayed the heck out of it and worked it back and forth, now it slaps back against the window like it should when folding it back in place.

How do the Icons do on the windshield. Do they do a good job?

A little cleaning and lubing with some WD40 & paper towels while rocking the arm back and forth did the trick. The 418B clears the window perfectly and does not hit the 3rd brake light :-)

Is the Bosch Icon 418B standard for all rear wiper arms on all E53's?

As, I just bought the 418B and was getting ready to install it, and the arm was different (not the hook latch, just like the front wiper arms are...)

The bosch icon 418b fit straight on the rear? Or does the arm need to be changed to another?
