That price is to high. I would say no higher than $20,000. If it cant be had for a good deal wait for another X5.

That is what I was thinking.

I really prefer buying from private parties as dealers are always looking to make thousands.

I got 19,598 -24,474 (trade in - retail) on Edmunds and 22,300 - 28,000 on KBB. The price could be inline.

I would check to see what private parties are going for in that area and base your price on that.....and then get the car check out for the obvious.

problem is that the Manager said he would not budge at all from the 24K asking price. I don't always go by kbb and edmunds but look to see what things are listed for and such. Kbb is always very high.

What's with the spoiler on top of the rear spoiler?

imola38 01-06-2011 01:25 AM

The double spoiler, the extra "4.8is" badge that doesn't belong on the rear along with the aftermarket tail lights would be enough to run me off. The wording in the advert shows they don't know crap about BMW's. I've always had good look finding private owners who know the vehicle they are selling very well. Plus, you avoid dealer mark-ups and sales tax. I'd keep looking for a better example. Just my advice FWIW.

Unless you need to purchase immediately or have a particular reason for purchasing this vehicle then I would recommend waiting. I've learned that immediate gratification ends up costing me more money than delayed gratification.

No hurray and I have written that car off. Still keeping my eyes open for the right one.
