what do you all think of this 2004 4.8is
What do you all think of this:
2004 BMW X5 4l8is AWD 75k Nav Leath S'Roof Wtr package 20inch rims I went and looked at it last week and drove it. Was very clean but rear tires needed replacement. Car was traded in on a new Buick which is how they got the car so never through the auction system. I liked it just not sure I would spend 24K on a 2004 model with 75K miles. Also funny in that the guy tookk a picture of the one of the front tires which had good tread but none of the rear tires that needed replacement in the pictures attached to the post. |
It looks nice, you probably have room to haggle with the price. I wouldn't say those fronts are good either. They look like they are <5000 miles away from the wear strip.

Nice pickup on the 4.6si. There is a local guy here selling a 2002 4.6si with 88K for 18K. He originally listed it for 21K last week and seemed to of dropped the price:
2002 BMW X5 4.6is Is there much of a difference between the 4.6si and the 4.8si. I think it is like 25HP of so but that is probably not that much of a noticeable difference? I may go look at the 2002 this weekend as the guy seems like he needs to sell quickly which is why the instant reduction in price. Just a bit scared to spend around 20K on something with no warranty and high mileage. Have a 2000 Mercedes and know what maintenance and such runs on these type of cars. |
i was lucky the guy gave me a 1 year warranty and like you said it is only 25hp and whatever options the truck has that is it only .2 cubes

Guys,I have a chance to get same kind of rims for $1500 CAD,tires are bad, rims are slightly scuffed..what do you think about a price?
|
wow just looked it up and the value is 27,000 i would just try to get a warranty
|
I got an 06 with fewer miles for a shade more than that...this seems a bit high.

I have a friend that works for BMW service and he told me most 3rd party warranty companies are crap as many refuse to pay BMW rates. For example you might have a covered item like a water pump that BMW will tell you is $300 + $400 labor for a total of $700 they in turn contact your warranty company and they tell BMW they will only pay $175 for the part and $200 for labor so the customer is on the hook for the difference + the deductible. He then goes on to tell me how pissed off the customer is. Only good warranty is straight through BMW.
